• The cost of your retirement lifestyle – will you have enough?

  How much super you’ll need depends on what lifestyle you plan to live in retirement. According to the ASFA Retirement Standards (September 2011), funding a modest retirement lifestyle costs $21,957 a year for single retirees, and $31,767 per couple. While a comfortable lifestyle is priced at $40,412 for single retirees and $55,316 per couple.

This can be greater than household income after income tax where there is a drawdown on capital over the period of retirement. Single calculations are based on female figures.
