Affected by the recent flood events: how HOSTPLUS can help

HOSTPLUS is deeply saddened by the recent flooding in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia and also those affected by last year's Victorian bushfires.

We may be able to help

If you’ve been severely affected by flooding, you may be able to access your super early due to financial hardship or compassionate grounds.

Helping you when it counts is important to us, so please contact us to discuss your options. We will ensure that your request is treated as a priority.

Early release of your super is a medium-term assistance measure, for more information on local support and more immediate assistance, visit the Queensland Government website or call their Disaster Recovery Hotline on 1800 173 349.

Employers in Queensland

Super is probably the last thing on your mind right now. But missing an SG deadline (the next deadline is 28th January 2011) could result in further expenses.

If you’ll have difficulty meeting your super obligations due to damage to your business or shortage of funds, you may be able to obtain an extension by contacting the ATO (Australian Tax Office) Emergency Support Information Line on 1800 806 218 or find out more on their website. 

The ATO has confirmed that they will grant extensions for December monthly Activity Statements for businesses in flood affected areas. Find out more.
