HOSTPLUS has announced the appointment of Paul Watson as Executive Manager, Member and Consumer Choice.
Paul joins HOSTPLUS with over 16 years experience in senior managerial roles across several of Australia’s leading superannuation companies, including roles as Chief Executive Officer of MilitarySuper, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Australian Reward Investment Alliance and Deputy Executive Director, MTAA Super.
Reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer, David Elia, Paul will lead and manage HOSTPLUS’ Member and Consumer Choice Division, including developing new products and services. Paul will also be responsible for producing and implementing HOSTPLUS’ strategic and business plans for its Member and Consumer Choice Division.
“HOSTPLUS is looking to develop and enhance the products and services available to our members, especially as they approach and enter retirement. Paul’s key role will be the operation and administration of these offerings to our members and especially those seeking to utilise pre and post retirement advice, pensions and other retirement products,” said David Elia.
In his previous positions Paul played a fundamental role in formulating, delivering and evaluating strategies and business plans and leading teams in providing effective products and services to improve members’ experiences and outcomes. His efforts were recognised by the Fund Executives Association in 2006 when it conferred on him its Executive of the Year award. He also completed the Leadership Development Program at Harvard Business School in 2007-08.
