AFL Women’s and Melbourne Food and Wine Experience – Terms and Conditions

  1. Information on how to enter, collection of personal information and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Submission of an entry is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry. 
  2. The competition is known as the AFL Women’s and Melbourne Food and Wine Experience (The Competition). The Competition will be promoted by Hostplus Pty Ltd ABN 79 008 634 704, AFSL No. 244392, RSEL No. L0000093, RSE No. R1000054, Level 9. 114 William Street, Melbourne Victoria 3000 Ph: 1300 467 875 (The Promoter). 
  3. The Competition will be promoted via multiple media platforms and at between 5:00pm AEST Friday 3rd February to 10:00am AEST Friday 10th March 2017 (Competition Period). 
  4. The Competition is open to all Hostplus members over the age of 18 years. Employees (and the immediate families) of the Promoter and Employees (and the families) companies associated with this promotion, including any prize providers, are ineligible to enter. 
  5. To enter The Competition, entrants must visit (Website) to fully complete and submit the online entry form by providing all details as requested by the Promoter, and answering the following question in 25 words or less: “To be in the running, fill in your details below and tell us your best ever performance in 25 words or less.” during the Competition Period. Incomplete, indecipherable, or ineligible entries will be deemed invalid. Any incorrect entrant details submitted may render the corresponding entry invalid. It is each entrant’s responsibility to inform The Promoter if their personal details change prior to the Winner Selection Date. Entry is free. 
  6. Entrants may only enter The Competition once.
  7. There are 2 identical prizes to be won. The Prizes are valued at $5,000.00 each.
    Each prize is for 2 adults (18+) and inclusive of the following;
    • Return standard economy flights (inclusive of all taxes) to Melbourne, Australia from the winners nearest domestic airport on an airline chosen by the Promoter.
    • Transfers to and from the winners nearest domestic airport.
    • 2 nights accommodation in Melbourne at a 4* Hotel (minimum) .
    • Transfers to and from Melbourne Airport to a Melbourne 4* Hotel (minimum).
    • Dinner for 2 adults (18+) on Friday 24th March 2017 and Saturday 26th March 2017.
    • Breakfast for 2 adults (18+) on Saturday 25th March 2017 and Sunday 26th March 2017
    • 2 tickets for the AFL Women’s Grand Final including behind the scenes VIP experience.
    • Brunch for 2 adults (18+) on Sunday 26th March 2017.
    • Spending money is not included.
    • Travel Dates: The winner must be available for travel on 24th March 2017 to 26th March 2017 inclusive. The winner may ask the Promoter to amend the dates of the return flights from the winners nearest domestic airport to Melbourne but must pay for any charges incurred in changing the dates as well as any increase in flight price from the dates of travel as set out in this clause.
  8. Prize values are in Australian dollars and are the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and are correct at the time of printing. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any variation in the value of The Prize(s). The Prize(s) is/are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash or kind and must be taken as offered.
  9. The Competition will be drawn at Hostplus Head office, Level 9, 114 William Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000 on 12:00pm AEST Friday 10th March 2017 (Winner Selection Date). The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. Winners will be notified by phone and email by 5:00pm AEST Friday 10th March 2017. If the winner cannot be contacted by 5pm AEST Monday 13th March 2017, another winner will be selected in accordance with clause 10.
  11. The Prizes will be delivered to the winner’s accommodation in Melbourne by the winner’s hotel check in time on 24th March 2017.
  12. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the competition and for communication and promotional purposes. The Promoter may disclose personal information to third parties for the purpose of providing The Prize(s). All entries become the property of The Promoter and may be used for communication and promotional purposes without further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. Entrants consent to The Promoter’s use and disclosure of information about them as contemplated by this paragraph. By entering the competition, entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants do not consent to their details being used for future marketing and communication purposes, they should contact The Promoter on the details set out in clause 2. The Promoter’s Privacy Policy, available at includes details about how individuals can seek access to and correct their personal information and how they can make a privacy complaint.
  13. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity and address) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with or breaches these conditions of entry, who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that The Promoter, in its sole discretion, deems to be offensive, inappropriate, defamatory or otherwise not in keeping with the spirit of The Competition. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter reserves its legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from a person whom is in breach of these conditions or whom engages in any unlawful or improper conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of The Competition.
  14. If The Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of The Promoter, The Promoter reserves the rights, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel The Competition as appropriate.
  15. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss and including equipment/communications line/telephone/mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access (including by electronic means) to or alteration of entries or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any entry or The Prize(s) except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any re-scheduling of fixtures/event. Should a fixture be re-scheduled, the Promoter will endeavour to accommodate the winner to attend the re-scheduled fixture/event, but accepts no responsibility if this is not possible.
