Meet Hostplus, Charter Hall's new super fund.

As the dedicated Industry SuperFund for those that live and love hospitality, tourism, recreation, and sport for over 30 years, Hostplus understand super, we understand service, and, more importantly, we understand your values, and what matters most to you at Charter Hall.

Charter Hall’s partnership with Hostplus will begin on 1 December 2019.

What do you need to do?

AMP members

To have your super contributions paid to Hostplus, you don’t need to do anything.

From 1 December 2019, contributions will be submitted to Hostplus on your behalf, if you don’t return the Choice form to Charter Hall. After your first contribution is received, we will contact you via email to help you set up online access and consider consolidating your AMP account.

To choose another fund or stay with AMP, download this Choice form to your desktop and email to payroll@charterhall.com.au by 28 November 2019.


If you have previously selected your own super fund

If you'd like to have your super contributions paid to Hostplus:

  1. download this Choice form to your desktop
  2. close your Internet browser
  3. open the document from your desktop
  4. complete the form and click the ‘submit’ button to email the form to payroll@charterhall.com.au by 28 November 2019.

After your first contribution is received, we will contact you via email to help you set up online access and consider consolidating your other super account/s.  

If you’d like your super contributions to be paid to your existing fund, you don’t need to do anything. Charter Hall will continue to pay contributions into your current fund as normal.


If you’re an existing Hostplus member

To take advantage of the special insurance arrangements available to you as Charter Hall employees:

  1. download this Choice form to your desktop
  2. close your Internet browser
  3. open the document from your desktop
  4. complete the form and click the ‘submit’ button to email the form to payroll@charterhall.com.au by 28 November 2019.

We will be in touch to confirm the changes have been made to your account soon after.

Charter Hall has completed a comprehensive review of their superannuation arrangements and we are pleased to announce that from 1 December 2019, Charter Hall will be partnering with leading industry fund, Hostplus as their new default superannuation provider.

Hostplus is the national superannuation fund for those that live and love Australian hospitality, tourism, recreation and sport. Hostplus was established over 30 years ago in 1988 and is one of Australia’s largest super funds with over 1.2 million members, and $45 billion funds under management.

Hostplus understand super and service, but more importantly we  understand the values, and what matters most to employees at Charter Hall.

Hostplus is excited to partner with Charter Hall,– here’s just a few of the benefits for Charter Hall employees to enjoy:

  • Committed support for Charter Hall employees with tailored workplace education experiences delivered over the coming months and beyond.
  • A low administration fee of just $1.50 per week which has remained unchanged since 2004.
  • Consistent long-term investment returns – for the year ending 30 June 2019 Hostplus’ Balanced*, default investment option produced a sound investment return of 6.8%. According to the SuperRatings SR50 Balanced Fund Crediting Rate Survey June 2019, this result makes Hostplus the number one performing fund over 3, 5 and 7 years and number two over 10, 15 and 20 years.
  • A market leading default investment option and 23 additional investment options to choose from.
  • A range of online tools to make managing your super simple, including access to your super account online.
  • Access to dedicated Hostplus financial planners to help you get the most from your super and an online financial advice tool.
  • Special premium rates for eligible Charter Hall employees for automatic Death/Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) as well as the ability to tailor your cover to your needs (you will receive a communication shortly which will confirm your eligible benefit design).

Hostplus will become the default superannuation provider for Charter Hall as of 1 December 2019.

As a Charter Hall employee you can choose where to have your superannuation contributions paid from this date.

Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance cover is calculated as:

  • 15% x salary x Years of Future Service to age 65
  • the Automatic Acceptance Limit (AAL) is $1,000,000.

Yes, Hostplus can accept spouse contributions. To learn more about the eligibility and important considerations on making spouse contributions into Hostplus, please visit hostplus.com.au/super/maximise-your-super/spouse-contributions
