Good financial advice is always a good plan

Having a financial plan in place can help you make the right investment decisions having regard to your circumstances, ensure you've got the right insurance and help you plan your retirement.

Five touchpoints where a planner can help:

  1. Setting goals: The first thing your financial planner will do is work with you to set goals. They’ll ask you to think about the lifestyle you want to lead once you retire. Do you want to travel the globe? Is it finally time to take up that hobby? What about the house renovation you’ve been dreaming of? Once your goals are set you and your financial planner have something to work towards
  2. Facing facts: We call this stage ‘facing the facts.’ It’s a reality check to see how your financial planning is going. Your financial planner will work with you  to get a true picture of your current financial and relevant non-financial situation
  3. Building the plan: Once there is an understanding of what you want to achieve, and you have agreed to proceed with having personal advice prepared, your financial planner will create a plan to get you from where you are currently to where you want to be.
  4. When you’re ready to take action: The plan is ready and your financial planner will advise you and work with you to put the strategies and ideas into action.
  5. Reviewing your plan: It's important to make sure your plan keeps up with the changes in your lifestyle, legislation and your personal circumstances.  Your financial planner can help you review your financial plan when it suits you and just like your initial appointment they’ll discuss any costs involved in preparing advice for you.

Paying for your plan

Members who choose to engage the services of a financial planner, will receive a fixed quote before proceeding with personal advice services. This quote will be provided once the planner has understood and agreed with your specific advice requirements.

The fee (once approved by you) will be charged on a fee for service basis.

Fees may be subject to change and, if so, you will be advised when you seek financial planning advice.

As a Hostplus member you can elect to pay these advice fees directly from your superannuation account, if the advice is directly related to your superannuation.

Meet a financial planner  and start your journey to achieving your financial goals.
