Digital Migration Competition

Terms and Conditions

  1. Information on how to enter, collection of personal information and prize form part of these conditions of entry. Submission of an entry is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.
  2. The competition is known as the ‘Digital Migration Competition’ (The Competition). The Competition is promoted by Hostplus Pty Ltd ABN 79 008 634 704, AFSL No. 244392, RSEL No. L0000093, RSE No. R1000054, as Trustee for the Hostplus Superannuation Fund Level 9, 114 William Street, Melbourne Victoria 3000 Ph: 1300 467 875 (The Promoter).
  3. The Competition will be promoted via Hostplus ‘Digital Migration Campaign’ channels including: Hostplus website (www.hostplus.com.au), direct member communications (mail & eDM), social media, SMS, websites and other relevant channels. To enter members must register for a ‘Member Online’ account or log in to their ‘Member Online’ account and check and/or update their personal contact details via hostplus.com.au/memberonline OR hostplus.com.au/pensiononline between 10.00am Thursday 8 December 2016 until 5.00pm Thursday 19 January 2017 (competition period).
  4. The Competition is open to all Hostplus members who are Australian residents and who register for a ‘Member Online’ account or log in to their ‘Member Online’ account and check and/or update their personal contact details via hostplus.com.au/memberonline OR hostplus.com.au/pensiononline during the campaign period. Employees (and their families) of the Promoter are ineligible to enter the competition.
  5. To enter the Competition, entrants must be existing Hostplus members. Incomplete, indecipherable, or ineligible entries will be deemed invalid. Any incorrect entrant details submitted may render the corresponding entry invalid. It is each entrant’s responsibility to inform The Promoter if their personal details change prior to the Winner Selection Date. Entry is free.
  6. Entrants may only enter the Competition once.
  7. The Competition will be drawn at the Promoter’s offices, Level 9, 114 William Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 on Thursday 26 January 2017 at 12.00pm (Winner Selection Date). The winners will be selected by a random electronic draw (https://www.random.org/).The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. The winners will be notified in writing (email) and by phone on or before Tuesday 31 January 2017. Details of the winner will be posted on the Promoter’s website (www.hostplus.com.au/news) by Wednesday 1 February 2017. 
If the winner:

    (a) cannot be contacted within 3 months from the Winner Selection Date; or
    (b) the winner is unable to collect the prize; 

    a redraw will take place at the Promoter’s offices, Level 9, 114 William Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 on Monday 1 May 2017 at 12.00pm in accordance with clause 8. If a redraw is required, the winner will be notified by phone and in writing on Wednesday 3 May 2017. Details of the winner will be posted on the Promoter’s website (www.hostplus.com.au) by Thursday 4 May 2017.
  9. Each winner will win the following prize:
     1 x Apple iPhone 7 $1,200
     Total value $1,200
     TOTAL Prize Pool (10 x iPhone 7 available) $12,000
  10. Prize values are in Australian dollars and are the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and are correct at the time of printing. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prize. The Prize is not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or kind and must be taken as offered.
  11. In the event that the prize or part of the prize is unavailable, the promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize or part of the prize in its discretion with an alternative prize or part of the prize to the same and equal recommended retail value and/or specification subject to any written directions from the various Lottery Departments.
  12. The Prize will be delivered to the nominated address of the prize winner, within 7 working days of the winner claiming the prize. Delivery of the prize is valid to any state and/or city in Australia.
  13. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any late lost or misdirected mail (including but not limited to prizes).
  14. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any prize damaged in transit in the delivery of the prize.
  15. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the competition and for communication and promotional purposes. The Promoter may disclose personal information to third parties for the purpose of providing the Prize. All entries become the property of the Promoter and may be used for communication and promotional purposes without further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. Entrants consent to the Promoter’s use and disclosure of information about them as contemplated by this paragraph. By entering the competition, entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants do not consent to their details being used for future marketing and communication purposes, they should contact the Promoter on the details set out in clause 2. The Promoter’s Privacy Policy, available at www.hostplus.com.au includes details about how individuals can seek access to and correct their personal information and how they can make a privacy complaint.
  16. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity and address) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with or breaches these conditions of entry, who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that the Promoter, in its sole discretion, deems to be offensive, inappropriate, defamatory or otherwise not in keeping with the spirit of the Competition. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter reserves its legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from a person whom is in breach of these conditions or whom engages in any unlawful or improper conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Competition.
  17. If The Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition as appropriate.
  18. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss and including equipment/communications line/telephone/mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access (including by electronic means) to or alteration of entries) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any entry or the Prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any re-scheduling of fixtures and/or flights. Should a fixture or flight be re-scheduled, the Promoter will endeavour to accommodate the winner to attend the re-scheduled fixture or flight, but accepts no responsibility if this is not possible. The Promoter is not liable for any extra costs in any way connected with the re-scheduling of any fixtures or flights included as part of the Prize.
