Choiceplus is for members who want a more active role in the management of their super or pension.

Choiceplus gives you the ability to invest your super or pension in shares in the S&P/ASX 300 Index, a range of ETFs, listed investment companies (LICs), and term deposits.

We’ve added five new ETFs to the Choiceplus range, which became available on 1 July 2024.

Hostplus members can head to Member Online to choose the investment option that’s right for them.

What are the new ETF additions to Choiceplus?

The new Choiceplus ETF options employ a passive investment strategy, which can be a low-cost way of gaining exposure to shares and other asset classes. A passive option typically aims to track the performance of a market index, rather than trying to ‘beat the market’.

Below are the options that were added to the list of ETFs available to Choiceplus members:

  • BGBL - Betashares Global Shares ETF
Provides exposure to an index comprising approximately 1,500 developed markets companies (ex-Australia).
  • HGBL - Betashares Global Shares Currency Hedged ETF
Provides exposure to an index comprising approximately 1,500 developed markets companies (ex-Australia), hedged into Australian dollars.
  • VAE - Vanguard FTSE Asia ex Japan Shares Index ETF
Provides exposure to securities listed in Asia, excluding Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
  • GLPR - iShares Core FTSE Global Property Ex Australia (AUD Hedged) ETF
Provides exposure to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and companies listed in global developed markets (ex-Australia) that own, trade and develop income producing real estate.
  • GLIN - iShares Core FTSE Global Infrastructure (AUD Hedged) ETF
Provides exposure to core infrastructure businesses listed in global developed markets.

Why we’ve added more ETFs to Choiceplus

We regularly review the options available to you on our Choiceplus platform to give you more investment choice. This is part of our ongoing due diligence and member focus.

The new ETF additions to Choiceplus aim to provide you with greater options for diversification, with exposure across international shares, property and infrastructure.
