Now you're a Hostplus Member -
let's get your super sorted

Getting your super organised makes it easier to manage. Here are some simple steps you can take:

To access your online account anytime, anywhere, register for Member Online.

You’ll need your Hostplus member number to register. You can find your member number in your welcome email, posted welcome letter, or by contacting our team.

Enjoy the ease of managing your super and your insurance in one place.

If you have insurance through another super fund or insurance provider, you may be able to transfer it to Hostplus.

Eligible members can transfer up to $1.5 million of Death Only or Death and TPD Cover.

Eligible members can also transfer Income Protection up to 90% of your pre-disability salary (of which a maximum of 75% is payable to you and the balance paid as a contribution to your Hostplus super account), or the maximum cover of $10,000 per month.

If you have Income Protection with your current super fund that is $10,000 or more per month, and you are considering transferring this cover to Hostplus, please contact Paula Formella on 0410 456 819 or pformella@hostplus.com.au

If your application to transfer your insurance to Hostplus is accepted, you will be notified in writing. Don’t forget to cancel the insurance held in your other fund only after you’ve been notified in writing that our insurer has accepted your transfer application.

Any loadings, restrictions and exclusions on your existing policy will apply to your transferred cover. You should also consider any differences in policy terms and conditions before transferring your cover. For more details, refer to the relevant Hostplus PDS.

You can apply to transfer your Death and TPD or Income Protection insurance cover via Member Online.

Important: Before consolidating your super – Step 3, please wait to be notified in writing that our insurer has accepted your transfer application.

The benefits of having everything in one place.

It’s not unusual to have more than one super account. Multiple accounts can happen when we change jobs and join our new employer’s default fund or have an old account from a long-forgotten job. Having one super account makes it easier to keep track of your super with less paperwork and administration.

Prevent duplicated fees.

If you have multiple super accounts, you could be charged multiple administration fees and insurance premiums, eroding your superannuation savings. And although your investment returns depend on the investment options you choose and how they perform, once you’ve consolidated your super, you’ll only pay one fund’s administration fee, increasing the funds in your account to invest.

You should always read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) before you decide on a financial product to make sure it’s suitable for your financial and personal needs, objectives and circumstances.

Check before consolidating.

Before consolidating your super, you should consider obtaining independent financial advice. Some important matters which you should check include:

Fees

Have you reviewed any fees and charges from your other super fund(s)? Is it the right time to be redeeming your investments?

Insurance

Have you reviewed any insurance benefits attached to your other account(s)? If you consolidate, your other account(s) will be closed, and you’ll lose any insurance cover attached to those account(s). There are insurance eligibility rules with every fund; you can find Hostplus’ eligibility rules by referring to the relevant Hostplus PDS. See the information above for details on transferring insurance from another fund to Hostplus.

With our secure mobile app, you can easily check your account balance and transaction history, view your insurance, see how your investments are performing and quickly update your contact details.
