Hostplus has today announced the extension of its group insurance partnership with MetLife Australia until June 2028.
Hostplus CEO David Elia said the partnership would unlock new opportunities to elevate the servicing models across claims and underwriting and deliver stronger outcomes for Hostplus members.
“MetLife has helped Hostplus to offer potentially life-changing and cost-effective group insurance to our members since we first partnered in 2013,” Mr Elia said.
“This extension provides a pathway to further strengthen our collaboration and deliver an innovative and enhanced offering to our members.”
The benefits of the partnership are already being felt by Hostplus members through lower premiums, improved insurance terms, and a more personalised claims experience.
Hostplus currently provides more than 865,000 members with Death, Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD), and Income Protection insurance through its partnership with MetLife. Group insurance is available to all eligible Hostplus members.1

Hostplus outlined key changes to its insurance offering in a Significant Event Notice to members in August 2024. Further uplifts will be rolled out over the coming 12 months to support enhanced member value and experience.
