Hostplus' flagship Balanced (MySuper) option delivered a strong 10.80% return for the year to 30 June 2026, while the Indexed Balanced option returned 11.06% and the High Growth option returned 12.61%.
The results reflect the benefits of Hostplus' diversified, long-term investment strategy and disciplined approach to investing through changing market conditions.
Hostplus' pension members also performed well, with the Balanced and Indexed Balanced pension options returning 11.80% and 12.09% respectively for the year to 30 June 2026.
Hostplus Chief Investment Officer Sam Sicilia said the results across the Fund’s investment suite reflected a disciplined approach to investing and a focus on long-term opportunities through periods of market volatility.
“We have built a portfolio designed to perform through changing market conditions, and this year's result reflects that strategy at work,” he said.
“Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and market volatility, strong performance from global equities, particularly technology and AI-related investments, helped drive returns, while our diversified exposure to private markets provided additional resilience.
“The results also highlight that technology-driven growth is not confined to the US or the Magnificent Seven, with economies such as Taiwan and South Korea generating significant value and supporting strong returns across the emerging markets asset class.”
The FY26 result continues Hostplus' strong long-term track record, with the Balanced (MySuper) option delivering 8.90% per annum over 10 years and 7.50% per annum over 20 years after fees and taxes.
Hostplus Chief Executive Officer David Elia said strong long-term performance can have a profound impact on members' financial security and quality of life in retirement.
"For members, investment returns aren't numbers on a page. They represent future opportunities, choice and confidence in retirement,” Mr Elia said.
"We're very conscious that members entrust us with their retirement savings and expect us to make the most of every dollar on their behalf. Strong long-term performance is one of the most important ways we can honour that responsibility."
Members invested in the Hostplus Lifecycle option also benefited from the strong performance, with positive returns delivered across all portfolios: Grow (under 50s) returned 12.12%, Maintain (50–59 years) returned 10.80%, and Protect (60 and over) returned 9.01%.
The FY26 results reflect Hostplus' ongoing focus on delivering competitive long-term performance and helping members achieve the retirement they want.
