What’s QuickSuper?

QuickSuper1 is our online superannuation clearing house. It lets you make super contributions for all your employees in one simple payment, even if they belong to other superannuation funds – saving you time and effort.

You can choose the payment frequency that suits you and can make additional payments (on top of your Superannuation Guarantee contributions) as needed. QuickSuper is compliant with the government’s SuperStream standards too, so you’ve got one less thing to think about.

QuickSuper is available at zero cost for all registered Hostplus employers.

Business tools

How does it work?

QuickSuper automates your employees’ super contributions. You just need to register your employees and create their online contributions – or you can streamline your workload by uploading a contribution file from compatible payroll software. QuickSuper accepts the standard SuperStream Alternative File Format (SAFF).

Once the contribution information has been submitted, you’ll log in to your financial institution’s online banking and make a single lump-sum payment by EFT. QuickSuper then separates the payment into individual contributions and distributes them to the relevant super funds, along with the associated employee information.

You’ll also have access to historical contribution and transaction summary reports.

And that’s it – so you can get back to your business.

New feature

Simplified member registration

You can easily obtain member numbers for new employees directly through QuickSuper.

We’re pleased to be able to provide this streamlined feature for our employer partners and help to reduce your administration time.

If you’d like QuickSuper to automatically apply member numbers to new employees, you’ll need to enable this feature in your QuickSuper account:

  1. Log in to your QuickSuper account.
  2. Navigate to ‘Preferences’.
  3. Scroll down to the ‘Employee’ section and select ‘Yes’ for 'Apply member ID updates'.

When adding new employees, make sure that you provide your employee's personal email and mobile number. This will ensure their contact details remain up to date and they receive their digital welcome journey.

Files need to be submitted in CSV (comma delimited) format. If you’ve used Excel to originally create the file, you may have problems with Unique Superannuation Identifiers (USIs) and member IDs that are long numeric values, as Excel may convert these into a scientific notation when you save your file to a CSV format. To avoid this, prefix the member ID with a hash (#) symbol. QuickSuper will remove the hash symbol before storing the information and passing it to a fund.

  1. Use the Search function and select ‘Search transactions’.
  2. Choose the relevant payment date to see its progress.
  3. Choose the credit transaction type to view the fund’s reason for a refund. This will display as employer credit.
  1. Use the Search function and select ‘Search contributions’.
  2. Enter the employee’s surname to see their payment history.

The contribution summary report details your total super payment amounts and the total number of payments.

To access it:

  1. Go to the ‘Reports’ tab and select ‘Contribution summary report’.
  2. To export the report, choose your report period and click ‘Download’.

The SuperStream response report contains new member IDs sent back from superannuation funds. These allow you to update your records and your employee records in QuickSuper.

It also includes responses for contributions and member registration messages, but won’t include refunds from super funds. Refunds will be communicated to you by email when we return the funds to your settlement account.

The report is generated overnight for the previous day’s responses. It won’t be generated if you haven’t received any responses on that day.

To view and download reports:

  1. Go to the ‘Reports’ tab and select ‘Daily reports’.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select ‘SuperStream response report’ and click the ‘Search’ button.
  3. If you want to view more information about an individual response you can view the full response message by expanding the SuperStream menu, selecting ‘View messages’ and going to the ‘Received message responses’ tab.
