Founded in 1988 by the Australian Hotels Association and the United Workers Union (formerly known as United Voice), Hostplus has grown to be one of the largest super funds in Australia. We now have:

A cover letter is not mandatory, but it can be a great way to provide some extra information beyond your resumé.

Some roles will require you to supply a university transcript. Qualification requirements are described in the relevant position descriptions. The talent team can also help you with the requirements.

Yes, you can apply for multiple positions. We encourage all applicants to review the eligibility criteria for each role. If you don't meet all the criteria but believe you have relevant skills and experiences, we still encourage you to apply and share your unique qualifications with us.

To withdraw a job application, follow the steps below: 

  1. Go to the 'Job applications' tab on the left-hand side of your LiveHire dashboard. 
  2. Find the job you'd like to withdraw from. 
  3. Click 'Withdraw'. A pop-up screen will appear to confirm your withdrawal. Click 'Withdraw' again to confirm.  

We aim to contact every applicant about the outcome of their application. If you advance to the next stage, our talent team will contact you. Otherwise, you’ll receive an email regarding the outcome of your application.

Your first interview will typically be with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and the hiring manager you'll report to. 

Prepare for a behavioural-style and values-based interview. The best way to demonstrate your knowledge is by researching the STAR (situation, task, action, result) methodology.  

We encourage you to research Hostplus, our values, and the people you'll be meeting with. Your research might include LinkedIn, the Hostplus website, our most recent annual report, and any other publications or resources your potential future team may have produced.

This will depend on the role that you've applied for. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be able to discuss this with you in the early stages of the process.

Yes, all roles require a mandatory background check to meet our regulatory obligations. Our provider for these checks is Fit2Work. You'll receive an email from Fit2Work with a link to complete your check. We'll let you know when you can expect this.  

Please complete all checks within 48 hours of receiving the email from Fit2Work to avoid potential delays to your start date.  

If you've worked overseas for a period of 12 months or more, further checks will be required.

Reference checks are done through our provider, X-Ref. You'll need to supply contact details for two direct managers from recent roles. Please let your referees know that we'll be in touch with them.
